Summer Camps At The College School

At The College School, we believe that every child deserves a vibrant and enriching summer experience. Our summer camps are open to ALL children in the community, regardless of whether they are a student at The College School.
Our summer camp programs cover a wide variety of topics and are specifically designed with your kid’s exploration and learning in mind! It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to make new friends, develop new skills and create lasting memories.
Campers registered for separate morning and afternoon programs in the same week will receive complimentary gap care, which includes a supervised lunch/recess break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Campers bring their own lunch and snacks.
Before and after care is available for an additional fee. Before care will run from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. for $5 per day. After care will run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. for $25 per day. Please see individual camp pages for details on before and after care availability.
Summer camp registration will begin on Monday, February 5, and will close once each camp reaches maximum capacity. Payment must be made in full when registering. Register early to guarantee a spot for your camper!
Whole Day Programs: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This exciting STEAM week offers rising 5th through 7th graders a chance to Escape! Yes, escape from a digital game and lock boxes, while developing the skills and strategies needed to create their very own escape game. Throughout the week, campers will also visit Science, Technology, and Art facilities on the UD campus. Finally, the week will culminate with an exciting trip to a local Escape Room where students will put their new strategies into practice! Please note this is a four-day program due to UD’s campus closing on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
This STEAM camp has been carefully designed for rising 2nd through 5th graders. The one-week program provides students with an introduction to robotic devices and basic computer coding. Utilizing platforms such as Google’s Blockly and MIT’s SCRATCH, students will actively engage in these programming languages. Each day will include time to escape from screens as well, with planned outdoor activities. Creative thinking and reasoning skills will be applied, as children interact daily with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math projects, as well as interactive games sessions. Please note this is a four-day program due to UD’s campus closing on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
Half-Day Programs: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This literacy camp is design for rising 1st through 4th graders to ignite their literacy journey through a enriching 2-week summer program. Led by two certified reading interventionists adept in the Orton-Gillingham approach, participants will delve into sharpening phonemic awareness and phonics skills, emphasizing decoding and comprehending diverse texts to jump-start their academic engines for the upcoming school year. A bit of Spanish language/culture exploration complements each day.
Physistry is open to all rising 7th and 8th graders, and is designed for students who are excited to explore high-school science content! Delve into the fascinating realms of physics and chemistry through engaging hands-on projects and explorations. Participants will uncover the mysteries of the physical world as they conduct exciting experiments, unravel the secrets of chemical reactions and build a strong foundation in fundamental scientific concepts.
Led by educator and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) specialist, Katie Cavuto, this camp is perfect for kids aged 8-13 who love to create, explore, and learn about themselves in fun and interactive ways! In this fun half-day camp, we create and decorate bountiful boxes then use art, mindfulness, and ingenuity to fill our bountiful boxes with a variety of positive affirmations and self-care tools meant to remind us of the gifts we bring to the world, the beauty of who we are and the ways we can love and care for ourselves every day! Love and kindness starts with each individual and then radiates outwards to everyone else! Our bountiful boxes will be overflowing by the end of our week together!
Led by educator and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) specialist, Katie Cavuto, this camp is perfect for kids aged 8-13 who love to create, explore, and learn about themselves in fun and interactive ways! In this fun half-day camp, we will use art, mindfulness, and pure positivity to explore empathy, helping our community and the sharing kindness through the many simple ways we can brighten someone’s day. There will also be time to cultivate self-love and extend kindness towards ourselves. This remind us of the gifts we bring to the world and the beauty of who we are. Love and kindness starts with you then radiates outwards to everyone else!
Half-Day Programs: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Led by education specialist and yoga teacher, Samantha Diver, Mindful Movement & Learning is a one-of-a-kind summer camp featuring nature walks, themed yoga, and mindfulness activities to improve self-esteem, self-regulation, connection and executive functioning skills for rising 1st through 8th graders.
This sports camp designed for rising 1st through 8th graders will elevate your child’s summer! This program is a thrilling blend of footwork mastery and honing hand skills through various sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and racket games—both indoors and outdoors. Young athletes will engage in rounds of skill-enhancing drills, focusing on dribbling, multi-person passing, shooting, blocking, and mastering the art of hand-eye coordination with paddles or rackets.
