RESEARCH PROJECTS
Nutrition Research
Ongoing
Nutrition experts from UD’s STAR campus visit The College School twice a year to teach students about the latest body of knowledge related to food choices. The College School is the only school they work with. In recent years, they have provided tailored, developmentally appropriate instruction on: the negative impact of energy drinks on the body, how to read a nutrition label, what a serving size is, how to determine appropriate protein intake and how to eat in order to sustain energy throughout the day.
Teaching Beginning Writers
Spring 2021
CEHD Professors David Coker and Kristen Ritchey conducted research on sentence building with elementary school students and have identified classroom writing prompts that are more effective than others. They used this research to develop and revise a writing curriculum, which The College School currently uses.
